Pellet burner - the heart of your stove

Pellet burner - the heart of your stove

Have you decided to burn pellets? Good decision. It is an ecological and economical fuel.

If your farm generates a lot of wood waste, you can even produce it yourself. When the pellets are ready, there is nothing left to do but add them to the stove and enjoy its efficiency. This is where our today's hero comes into the forefront - the pellet burner.

What is a pellet burner?

The pellet burner is a key element of the boiler - it is responsible for the process of burning the pellets and thus generating heat. In addition, the burner is responsible for dosing the fuel and maintaining the desired combustion conditions.

How does it work?

Thanks to a special mechanism controlled by the stove controller, the pellet is introduced into the combustion chamber in the appropriate amount. Most often, the so-called screw feeder operating on electricity is responsible for this.

The fuel supply is adjusted to the current heat demand. The mechanism works in such a way as to achieve the highest possible efficiency without unnecessary excess fuel consumption.

This process can be fully automated.

The next stage is pellet ignition. When the combustion chamber contains the appropriate amount of pellets, an electric igniter or gas flame initiates the combustion process.

Combustion takes place in the chamber, where as a result of this process, hot air or gas is created, which transfers heat to the heat exchanger located in the boiler.

Most burners allow for the adjustment of combustion parameters during the process itself.

Manual adjustment of the amount of fuel fed or regulation of the air flow allow for the most efficient combustion with the lowest possible consumption of pellets.

During the entire combustion process, the parameters from inside the chamber are monitored by the furnace controller. It is the controller that relieves us of the regulation of combustion parameters. Thanks to a well-configured controller, we are able to obtain a safe and economical combustion process and use one hundred percent of the energy potential of the pellets.

Thanks to a well-configured pellet burner, it is also possible to reduce the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere.

Why is it worth using a pellet burner?

Pellet burning has many advantages. One of them is the fact that we can produce it ourselves. With the help of a pellet mill, we can create fuel from agricultural waste and biomass, which would require disposal anyway. (To learn more about producing pellets yourself, click here) In this way, we save both resources and money. This option also guarantees independence from the supply chain. The combustion of pellets itself is a process that generates much less harmful fumes than in the case of other fuels - especially fossil fuels. In this respect, pellets are eco-fuel. A well-configured stove, with a properly selected burner and a well-adjusted controller, will have a positive impact on both the air quality in our area and the wealth of our wallet.
