EGK-100 on PTO is a compact and efficient grain extruder designed for thermo-mechanical processing of grains and seeds using hot extrusion. The device is powered by a tractor via a power take-off shaft (PTO), which ensures full mobility and independence from the power grid. The extruder allows effective processing of grains such as wheat, corn, barley, rye, and grain mixes, improving their digestibility and nutritional value. The extrusion process involves the short-term application of high temperature and pressure to the raw material, which is then forced through a die nozzle, changing its physical structure.

The working part of the EGK-100 extruder consists of a system in which the raw material is simultaneously crushed, heated, and formed. Due to the rapid drop in pressure after passing through the matrix holes, a foaming effect occurs – the grain increases its volume and becomes easily digestible. As a result, the feed is more readily absorbed, and animals require less of it compared to untreated or traditionally pelleted feed.

The action of high temperatures effectively disinfects the feed, eliminating bacteria, molds, and pathogenic microflora. This is particularly important in the nutrition of young animals, for whom feed quality and safety are crucial.

Under the influence of pressure and temperature, starch and complex carbohydrates are partially broken down into simpler forms, easily absorbed by the animals’ bodies. At the same time, due to the very short processing time, vitamins and nutrients are largely preserved. Consequently, the energy from the feed is used for weight gain, improved condition, and production efficiency.
