Feed extruder EGK-20 is a compact machine designed for the thermo-mechanical processing of cereals by the extrusion method. The model was designed for small farms, small production plants, technological workshops, and people starting their own production of extruded cereal products.

The extruder is intended for processing cereals and other plant raw materials rich in starch. The extrusion process makes it possible to obtain a finished product in the form of light tubes or sticks with a uniform structure. The standard equipment includes two forming nozzles, enabling quick adjustment of the product shape to the user's needs.

During operation, the material is subjected to simultaneous crushing, compression, and short-term exposure to high temperature and pressure. At the moment of leaving the working chamber, a rapid pressure drop occurs, thanks to which the product increases its volume and obtains a characteristic porous structure.

Extrusion processing improves the digestibility of starch, reduces the presence of undesirable microorganisms, and increases the utility value of the finished product. At the same time, the short duration of high-temperature exposure makes it possible to preserve most of the valuable nutrients.
