Feed extruder EGK-200 PTO-driven

EGK-200 for PTO is a solid and practical feed extruder for processing soybeans and cereal grains, which, instead of classic electric power, uses a tractor drive via the power take-off shaft (PTO). This solution is ideal for farms that want to become independent of electricity access or are looking for mobile feed solutions.

The device enables processing of raw soybeans into highly digestible feed – eliminating anti-nutritional factors and increasing the nutritional value of the grain. It operates on the basis of hot extrusion technology, combining heating, crushing, and forming in a single operation. It works perfectly as an extruder for producing feed mixes for cattle, pigs, goats, and fish.

The working part of the feed extruder consists of two chambers – in the loading chamber, the raw material is crushed, and in the pressing chamber, it is subjected to heat treatment at a temperature of 120–180°C under high pressure. Then, when passing through the extruder holes, the material 'explodes' due to the hydroshock effect caused by a sudden pressure drop. As a result, the grain foams up and increases its volume several times. Therefore, animals need less feed in the form of puffed sticks compared to ordinary or pelleted feed to feel full.

Thanks to the action of high temperature, the feed extruder sanitizes the feed, eliminating pathogenic microflora, fungi, and harmful bacteria, which are especially dangerous for young animals.

Additionally, under the influence of pressure and high temperature, hard-to-digest starches are broken down into lighter, simple carbohydrates and sugars. Vitamins and all nutrients are preserved since the high temperature only acts for a split second. This way, animals don’t waste energy digesting their food but channel it into body weight gain and increased milk yield.

The EKG-200 is equipped with two nozzles: for obtaining stick-shaped tubes and for producing flakes up to 4 cm in diameter. Thanks to these nozzles, extruded feed can be produced for various species of livestock and poultry.
