Feed extruder EGK-350

EGK-350 Grain Extruder is designed for the production of high-quality feed, contributing to significant improvement in animal growth and farm productivity (including increased milk production).

The extruder transforms grain into a foamed structure in the form of small sticks or flakes. It is used to process corn, wheat, barley, and mixed feeds with the addition of wheat bran (up to 20%).

The working part of the machine consists of two chambers: in the first, the raw material is ground, and in the second, it is heated to 160‑180 °C under high pressure. After being extruded through the die, there is a sudden drop in pressure, which causes immediate expansion of steam and multiple increase in grain volume.

The use of additional equipment such as a screw conveyor or feed mixer significantly facilitates the preparation and delivery of feed.

The working part of the feed extruder consists of two chambers – in the loading chamber the raw material is crushed, and in the pressing chamber the material undergoes thermal processing at temperatures of 120–180°C under high pressure. Then, as it passes through the extruder holes, the raw material “explodes,” experiencing a hydrodynamic shock due to a rapid drop in pressure. As a result, the grain becomes foamed and increases its volume multiple times. This means that animals need less feed in the form of aerated sticks than in regular or pelleted form to feel full.

Thanks to the high temperature, the feed extruder disinfects the feed, eliminating pathogenic microflora, fungi, and bacteria, which is especially important for young animals.

Additionally, under the influence of pressure and high temperature, hard-to-digest starch breaks down into lighter, simple carbohydrates and sugars. Vitamins and all nutrients are preserved, since the exposure to temperature lasts only a split second. Therefore, animals do not waste energy digesting feed, but direct it towards weight gain and increased milk production.

The EKG-350 is equipped with two nozzles: for producing sticks in the form of tubes and for producing flakes up to 4 cm in diameter. Using these nozzles, extruded feed for different species of farm animals and poultry can be produced.
