Grain Extruder EGK-100

EGK-100 is a modern feed extruder designed for thermo-mechanical processing of plant-based raw materials. It enables efficient processing of products such as maize or grain mixtures, improving their digestibility and nutritional value.

Thanks to its compact design, the device is perfect for both small farms and professional production lines. This model of extruder can be used as part of a larger system or work independently, depending on the plant's needs.

The EKG-100 is equipped with two nozzles: for producing stick-shaped tubes and for creating flakes with a diameter of up to 4 cm. Thanks to these nozzles, it can produce extruded feed for various species of livestock and poultry.

The working section of the feed extruder consists of two chambers – in the loading chamber, the raw material is crushed, and in the pressing chamber, it is subjected to thermal treatment at 120–180°C under high pressure. Then, as it passes through the extruder openings, the raw material "explodes", experiencing a hydroshock effect due to the sudden pressure drop. As a result, the grain foams up and increases its volume several times. This means that animals need less feed in the form of aerated sticks than regular or pelleted feed to feel satiated.

The feed extruder, thanks to the high temperature, sterilises the feed, eliminating pathogenic microflora, fungi, and harmful bacteria to which young animals are particularly sensitive.

Additionally, under pressure and high temperature, hard-to-digest starches break down into lighter, simple carbohydrates and sugars. All vitamins and nutrients are preserved because the exposure to temperature lasts only a fraction of a second. Thanks to this, animals do not waste energy on digesting feed but instead direct it towards body weight gain and increased milk production.
