Grain Extruder EGK-50

EGK-50 is a compact feed extruder designed for processing plant-based raw materials such as corn, grains, and feed mixes. Thanks to thermo-mechanical treatment, the digestibility and quality of the raw materials are improved, resulting in better nutritional outcomes.

This model is intended for small and medium-sized farms as well as local production facilities. The simple design and easy operation make it possible to quickly implement the device into daily work without specialist training.

The difference between the EGK-50 and EGK-60 extruders lies in the fact that the latter is equipped with a 7.5 kW motor, allowing for increased load and, consequently, higher output.

The working part of the feed extruder consists of two chambers – in the loading chamber the raw material is crushed, while in the pressing chamber the raw material undergoes thermal processing at 120–180°C under high pressure. Then, passing through the extruder openings, the raw material "explodes," experiencing a hydrodynamic shock due to a sudden drop in pressure. As a result, the grain becomes foamed and increases its volume several times over. This means that animals need less feed in the form of aerated pellets than in regular or granulated form to become satiated.

The feed extruder, due to the action of high temperature, sanitizes the feed, eliminating pathogenic microflora, fungi, and harmful bacteria, which young animals are particularly sensitive to.

In addition, under the influence of pressure and high temperature, hard-to-digest starches are broken down into lighter, simple carbohydrates and sugars. Vitamins and all nutrients are preserved, as the temperature treatment lasts a fraction of a second. This way, animals do not expend energy on digesting the feed but rather direct it toward bodyweight gain and increased milk yield.
