The RD-250 Leaf model variant is a lightweight shredder for straw, hay, and leaves, designed specifically for composting. Unlike the basic RD-250 model, the Leaf version is perfect for preparing hay, straw, and leaves for larger farm animals such as horses, goats, or alpacas—in particular, for older animals that have problems chewing grain. The difference between the RD-250 and RD-250 Leaf models is that the Leaf version does not come equipped with a grain hopper.

The device is available in a low-voltage version (220-240 V) and in a three-phase adaptation (380-400 V), so you can use the full potential of the machine on any farm. The blade speed (~3000 rpm) and interchangeable sieve (~6 mm) guarantee even aeration of the material and uniform shredding fraction.

The RD-250 Leaf hay chopper is the ideal choice for users who need a universal straw shredder, hay chopper, grass and leaf shredder, and at the same time a device that can support composting and the work of small recycling centers. It can also be used as a grain crusher in situations requiring mobile operation.

Working components of the RD-250 rotary hay shredder:

The set includes sieves with 6 mm mesh diameter, which can be replaced as needed with others to achieve a finer or coarser product fraction. The heart of the machine is a 4 kW electric motor, adapted for power supply from 220-240 V or 380-400 V, operating at a speed of 3000 rpm.
Two handy discharge chutes make it easy to collect finished material.

The device has a capacity of about 150 kg/h when working with hay. The resulting material can be used as high-quality feed for farm animals or as a raw material for pellet production.

First start-up and usage instructions for RD-250:

The shredder should be placed on a stable, flat surface. Before starting it, install a sieve of the appropriate fraction and prepare a container for the finished material.

The first start of the motor should be done without load. Then, pour the raw material into the feed hopper and push it through only with a wooden stick–never use your hands for this.
The operator’s only task is to add hay as needed and replace the container when full.
