Description
The SA-400 Pro model is a modern aerodynamic dryer designed for drying fine plant-based materials—such as sawdust, wood chips, straw, or grain waste. It is mainly used to prepare raw material before the pelletizing process, briquette production, or further processing.
This is an improved version of the SA-400. The main difference is the addition of a pellet burner, which, thanks to modern technologies, operates automatically and controls the boiler's operating mode, ignition, pellet dosing, and temperature. As a result, it facilitates operation and allows the dryer to function, to some extent, without human intervention.
The dryer operates on a proven mechanism: the material is dried in a system of pipelines through which a stream of hot air flows. Under controlled temperature, moisture on the surface of the raw material quickly evaporates, and moisture from inside the material migrates outward. This process ensures safe and efficient dehydration. A masonry furnace or a biomass burner can be used as the heat source, allowing for optimal working temperature. The dryer integrates perfectly with pellet production lines.
Combined with a pellet production line, it forms a complete set for pellet manufacturers.

- Pellet burner DOMNA-250 with an auger and control panel
- KPS-400 Calibrator-Screw Feeder, whose main task is to calibrate and screen the raw material, removing bark, wood pieces, branches, debris, and providing even feeding of the raw material into the dryer pipelines.
- Pipeline system: this section of the dryer is where drying occurs as the raw material passes through the pipelines.
- Radial anti-dust fan: pulls hot air with the raw material through the pipelines.
- Cyclone: separates dried material (sawdust) from smoke, dust, and particles.
- Control panel. The electric equipment cabinet houses electrical components for remote automatic control of the set’s mechanisms and electric drives, installed inside the control cabinet.

Stages of operation of the sawdust dryer:
- Raw material is poured into the feed hopper, where it is screened by the calibrator mounted above the hopper.
- At the same time, hot air—often referred to as the “drying agent”—is blown into the pipeline.
- Together with the drying agent, the raw material is transported through the pipeline.
- Under high temperature, surface moisture in the raw material evaporates, and internal moisture migrates toward the surface.
- This process and the properly selected temperature prevent particle ignition.
Application of the SA-400 PRO pipe dryer for sawdust
SA-400 Pro aerodynamic sawdust dryer is a suitable choice wherever fast and efficient drying of plant waste is needed. The dryer is used in the wood and energy industry, as well as in agriculture and companies producing pellets.
The sawdust dryer is intended for drying the following raw materials:
- sawdust from deciduous and coniferous trees;
- wood chips;
- straw;
- grain waste.
Our equipment allows for the production of fuel pellets with a bulk density of 1–1.3 g/cm3, and with high combustion and heat output. The aerodynamic sawdust dryer produces environmentally safe products from wood industry waste.
The sawdust dryer processes raw materials with a fraction up to 7 mm.
Fresh wood sawdust with 40–60% moisture and below is dried and prepared for pelletizing in a single pass through the dryer.
