Jaw crushers - reuse construction materials

Jaw crushers - reuse construction materials

Anyone who has ever renovated a bathroom or kitchen remembers well the unpleasant duty of hauling heavy buckets of debris.

This memory seems all the stronger the more floors with this waste we had to overcome.

The same is true for larger construction work.

Inherent in every construction site are several-meter-high piles of paving blocks, fragments of stripped asphalt and all sorts of trinkets.

Unfortunately - any renovation or construction work generates large amounts of heavy and out-of-shape waste, which has to be disposed of somehow.

However, there is an alternative - recycling.

Much of the construction waste can be reused. However, in order to realize their potential, they must first be thoroughly ground.

This is where our today's heroine - the intrepid jaw crusher- comes into action.

What are jaw crushers?

Jaw crushers are machines used in the mining, construction and recycling industries. They are used to crush materials such as stones, rocks, bricks, concrete, construction debris and other hard substances. They are an indispensable tool in the process of crushing raw materials, allowing to obtain particles of the right size that can be used in subsequent production stages.

How does a crusher work?

Jaw crushers consist of two main parts: the frame and the jaws.

The frame is a stationary structure that stabilizes the entire machine and supports the jaws.

The jaws, which are moving parts, are responsible for the crushing process itself. They are usually made of strong materials such as steel to withstand heavy loads and resist wear.

During operation, the material goes between the jaws, where it is compressed and shredded by their movement. This process creates a mechanical force that breaks the material into smaller pieces. The final size of the shredded particles depends on the settings previously made by the user.

Types of crushers

Jaw crushers come in different versions and sizes to meet the diverse needs of users.

We distinguish between:

Stationary crushers - mounted directly at the work site.

Such crushers can be powered by electricity.

They will work well, for example, in cement production plants or quarries.

Portable crushers - allowing you to transport the device and use it without access to an electrical connection. This is a good solution for, for example, construction companies working on many different jobs.

Depending on the type of material to be crushed, capacity and other factors, jaw crushers can be driven by electric, hydraulic or mechanical motors.

Crusher for stone, for rubble and what else?

These machines are suitable:

  • for rubble
  • for stones
  • for coal
  • to bone (after modification of the crusher)
  • for ceramics
  • for plastics

Many customers are also looking for a wood crusher or a branch crusher. However, dedicated machines - wood chippers- are best suited for shredding and chopping wood and branches. Others ask us about plastic crushers or polystyrene crushers. We have specially created the Grindex 7 impact shredder for this purpose. All shredders for waste such as pallets, cardboard, packaging, polystyrene and others can be found here.

What construction waste is recyclable?

The basic material suitable for re-implementation in the production process is construction debris. It includes all kinds of:

stones, old asphalt surfaces, concrete, paving stones, bricks, etc.

Subjected to the crusher, the rubble is used as a material for the production of:

paving slabs, recycled concrete, road base, mortar, asphalt or fillers.

Jaw crusher - for whom?

Jaw crushers will find use in all kinds of industries, both large-scale and more local.
This is possible thanks to the wide range of this type of equipment tailored for different types of users.

Industries using jaw crushers include:

  • stone and decorative industries

  • companies engaged in the production of garden materials

  • industrial plants engaged in the production of building materials

  • companies engaged in the production of precast concrete products

  • construction and road construction companies

  • recycling plants

Summary

Jaw crushers are versatile devices that are used in many areas of industry. The relatively simple design ensures reliability for a long time. Their use is part of the philosophy of sustainable raw material management and waste reuse. In this respect, the purchase of a jaw crusher is a worthwhile investment.

Turning waste into worth: a quick guide to resource utilization

Whether you run a small workshop, processing plant, sawmill, or agricultural holding - one thing is certain: your work generates waste. Disposing of and recycling them is an unpleasant and often costly obligation, burdened with difficult-to-meet regulations. Waste shredding - environmentally friendly and cost-effective

Waste shredding - environmentally friendly and cost-effective

Anyone who has ever bought firewood knows the difference between a cubic meter and a spatial meter. For the uninitiated: a cubic meter of wood is, in theory, a solid block of wood with a side length of 1m, while a spatial meter of wood is a meter-long pile of branches, which also includes the voids between individual tree fragments. In the simplest terms: there is less wood in a spatial meter of w..
