Straw and hay shredder RDS-30

RDS-30 Straw and Hay Shredder is a compact electric device designed for shredding dry plant materials such as straw, hay, herbs or leaves. It is a practical solution for preparing material for the production of feed, pellets, and briquettes.

The ground material can be used independently or as an additive to feed. The device enables you to choose a sieve with holes ranging from 5 to 20 mm, which lets you adjust the fraction of the shredded material to your specific requirements. The standard obtained fraction is approx. 5 mm.

For optimal operation, the moisture content of the material should not exceed 20% – too moist material may accumulate in the shredding area, causing overload or stopping the motor. The device's capacity is 30-50 kg/h, and the prepared hay and straw are ideal for further pelletizing.

For pelletizing hay, straw, and dried feed, the following feed pelletizers are perfect: KGM-100, GMK-150, GMK-200 and GMK-260. Each of these models allows the processing of fibrous plant materials into feed in pellet form, tailored to the needs of farms of different production scales.

Operating Sequence for the RDS-30 Straw Shredder

1. If the shredder is used in a stationary manner, it should be mounted on a hard, level surface with proper ventilation.
2. The shredder must be connected to a 220-240 / 380-400 V power supply, depending on availability.
3. Start the motor idling and check the direction of the rotor rotation. It should match the direction arrow on the protective casing – if the direction is opposite, the electrical wiring connection should be changed.
4. Place a bag or other container for the finished material.
5. Feed straw/hay through the opening at the top. Push the material in, for example, with a wooden stick. Never put your hands into the opening!
6. The blade rotational speed is 3000 rpm and ensures effective shredding of the material to the specified fraction.
7. After use, thoroughly clean the shredder from any hay and straw residues.
